Dr Ian Tunbridge has taught a wide range of geological environmental and earth and marine science courses. For his PhD, he studied the Geology of North Devon and South Wales, and following this he initially worked as an Exploration Geologist for Shell.
Ian subsequently taught Geology and Environmental Science at the University of Plymouth for many years, and has also tutored for the Open University and WEA. He has worked as a consultant for oil companies in SE Turkey and has also undertaken research into the coastal sediments of South Devon. He has published widely on the geology of the Old Red Sandstone and on desert flood sedimentation.
